Inspired by the racing bikes that roamed the streets of London and Tokyo in the 1960s, the Revstar series captures that individualized character where performance prevails above all else, like those bikes whose elements were always exclusive and personalized.
Attention to detail, a great legacy, and craftsmanship that betrays its Japanese origins.
Precise manufacturing and design engineering: we are driven by the desire to seek new horizons.
DRY SWITCH
Specially designed for the Revstar series, Yamaha's patented Dry Switch provides the versatility of a split-coil pickup with infinitely better sound. Utilizing a passive filter circuit carefully designed to achieve the perfect frequency response, the Dry Switch filters out and eliminates low end, achieving the punch and clarity of a single-coil pickup without the inevitable hum and hollow tone often associated with split humbuckers. And because it's a single-filter circuit, the Dry Switch works on both humbuckers and P90s, achieving a sound that's absolutely unique.
CUSTOM HARDWARE
Inspired by the stripped-back café racer motorcycles that were so popular on the streets of London in the 1960s, Revstar guitar hardware captures the performance-driven individuality of those bikes, whose unique, bespoke components were always unique. From the unique pickup covers to the raw copper pickguard on the Revstar Professional, to the fully custom floating aluminum tailpiece on the RS502T, each and every component is perfectly tuned to deliver optimal performance and a distinctive aesthetic, capturing the core essence of café racer motorcycles.
CONTOURED BODY FOR GREATER COMFORT
Revstars are tough and durable, but that doesn't mean they can't be comfortable and easy to play. Every contour of Revstar guitar has been designed from the ground up to be both visually and physically perfect: a pronounced recess at the belly, a recessed forearm contour, and a newly designed neck-to-body joint to allow the best possible access to the high frets. These are guitars designed to be played all night long.
IRA (INITIAL RESPONSE ACCELERATION)
If you've ever played another musician's guitar and haven't been able to get the same sound, it's probably because you're playing a different style than the guitar is used to. After playing the same guitar for years, it adapts to the guitarist's style. It takes time for a new guitar to adapt to a guitarist's playing style. The tension between the parts (finish, wood, body, neck, fingerboard, nut, bridge, etc.) needs to be released before they can all resonate together as one instrument. This takes time and many hours of playing. Thanks to IRA technology, tensions like those between the finish and the wood are released by applying specific vibrations to the finished guitars. Once the treatment is complete, the guitar responds accurately to the player's playing and resonates more easily. This technology also shortens the time it takes for the guitar to break in. It also provides excellent sustain (RSP20CR).
